This painting is inspired by a beautiful wild place called Alice Springs, located in the red centre of Australia’s Desert. My good friend, Kaitlyn, is a park ranger and dedicates her life to caring for mother nature. The photo that inspired this painting (view in the slide show on the left) was taken by Kaitlyn during her time living in the desert. I loved this photograph because of the colour of the sunset sky— it inspired me to begin painting pink skies in not only this painting, but other paintings in the Wild Places collection as well!
