"Desert Awakening", 6x12"
This painting is inspired by a photograph and memory of my first night (ever) on a backpack hiking trail. The first trail I spent a night on was the Larapinta Trail in Australia with my friend (and local park ranger) Kaitlyn (you can see a photo of us at our campsite in the slide show to the left). This night was full of lessons and inspiration. It taught me that I can do hard things. It taught me that nature can heal. It showed me that you just need to take the time to sit in the stillness of nature— to watch the entire sunset and sunrise, sleep with the creatures, and breathe only fresh air. If you do that, you will feel full again.
I hope this painting brings you that stillness, healing and inspiration that only nature can offer.
Welcome to the Wild Places, love.
